He said it was a no-brainer.

Love the passion but it’s a short-sighted approach to the game.

I have to disagree

I'll try to find the video of Phil talking after the game. The players want to play and win. They are nothing like most fans. They play because they can They play because they love the game. They arent thinking about the draft order, or resting for the offseason etc. They are playing for the other players on the team and the chance to get to play with each other one more time

It's only the arm chair GM's that think this crazy stuff up about throwing in the towel since they are out of the playoffs.

They play for pride.

There was no reason for him not to play. If he was cleared he was playing. He wasn't worried about getting hurt this game any more than he was in any game he's started.

Exactly the sentiment you want in a player and exactly why they shouldn't make the decision whether or not to play. They always want to play, way too competitive-you hope.
