Have nothing to hang this on other than Macafee just saying the reports are the Colts are saying they avoided something serious with Pierce. What that means, no idea and haven't seen anything at all official. I would assume however that statement means the MRI confirms no achilles or calf tear?

Will be curious to see the time he is expected to miss for sure.

It means he gets to keep his foot but not without resting it for a few weeks.

Colts WR Alec Pierce, who aggravated a heel injury that was surgically repaired, will attempt to rehab the ailment rather than have surgery, sources say.

Pierce is slated to be out several weeks while he heals, but if all goes well, he could return midseason.

It’s likely that Alec Pierce will head to IR while he recovers. If all goes well, he could recover without surgery.

But it’s not a guarantee.

This has a very familiar ring to (Luck,Leonard).

We had no choice but to sign him when we missed on Mitchell. We all wanted Pierce signed but none of us saw his medicals. I didn't even know he needed surgery. The Colts did. It was a big time gamble even if he didn't need surgery (he isn't a number one receiver yet) necessitated by another missed draft choice (Mitchell) the way I am looking at it. It is possible it is just bad luck. Needs to stop either way.
