I have a feeling that this will wind up being one of 2 extremes ...... either the Colts will collapse down the stretch and blow the division title, or Daniel Jones will lead the Colts to their first AFC Championship title since 2009, and a place in football lore next to Jack Youngblood.

Youngblood broke his leg late in the 4th quarter of a 1979 divisional playoff game against the Cowboys. That tackle that Youngblood made may have saved the game for the Rams (I remember watching it on TV when I was in 9th grade.) Youngblood then played 2 games on that broken leg (the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl.)

AR, who gets injured whenever the wind blows, and isn't much more than an athletic specimen, is on IR. Workout equipment had it in for him. Go figure. Riley Leonard, who arguably shouldn't even be in the NFL other than he is a Notre Dame guy and Indiana has a lot of ND fans, isn't going to beat any NFL team. If Leonard starts, just stack the box all day and stop Taylor and you'll get a guaranteed win. So, they have to start Jones, who has a broken leg. He's also gonna be the starting QB for the next two years and 6 games because we don't have any first round picks for the next two years. This. Is. Not. Good.

The idea that trading two firsts for Sauce made getting a QB impossible seems false to me. First of all we have had all our first round picks for the last 10 years or so, have ben in acute need for a QB, and have used exactly two to get a QB, one was a retread and the one picked high most people here hate. Even if we kept those two picks it isn't likely Ballard will use them on a QB and those two picks are not even close to enough draft capital to move up to get one (we had the 4th pick in the draft, needed a QB but were unwilling to use any capital to move up to get one of the top 3 available). I guess my main belief is that we were not in a position to get a good QB with those two picks and trading them essentially will have no impact for us in our QB search.

The injury sucks and could certainly have a negative impact on the remainder of the season however if we have a meltdown I believe it will be due to another reason. Some predict that we will be exposed by our remaining opponents as a better than average squad with some fatal flaws. I’m not inclined to say our record is a product of smoke and mirrors as some have charged but these next two games will tell the truth. I personally believe a total collapse could only come from a catastrophic injury or an absolute failure in coaching.

I’ve honestly never heard of a player playing through a fractured tibia. That’s insane.

That said, the Jones we saw last week, the one who could hardly move, appears to be the one we’re stuck with for the rest of the season.

Get ready for even MORE blitzes.

Sheesh.

Colts are apparently so desperate to win the division (that was literally created to showcase Peyton Manning to a Southern college football fan audience) that they're willing to cripple the new franchise QB of the next 2+ seasons.
It is wild and shows no faith in Riley Leonard who was drafted solely because he went to Notre Dame.

A fractured tibia can be anything from a clean break to a tiny fissure that barely breaks the periosteum (which would have no real structural damage to the bone). We have no idea what it is but I would guess it isn't something that puts his career in jeopardy

There’s no way they’d let him continue to play if doing so was in any way career threatening.

o

The complete team needs to play like a complete team, especially in their next 2 games against the Texans and the Jaguars.
