Colts sign Matt Gay to four year deal. Top five kicker in the league going into his prime. Kickers are so important and so ignored. How many games come down to the foot of the kicker every year? In the playoffs?

Actually, now that I think about it, with a rookie quarterback presumably, having a good kicker is pretty important.

Just think back to when Vinatieri fell off. I think we lost 3-4 games directly from kicking that year.

McLaughlin was fine, but having a real weapon at kicker is valuable. I just wasn't paying attention to PK this off-season.

Right? Two of the past seasons we could have been in the playoffs but for kicking. I know other stuff was happening, but if that was good we would have made it. Several division games lost that were on the line. It's under 6 mill a year for one of the top kickers, not sure what the huff is about. Mainly on twitter it's like Colt fans need to see the team overspend a bunch of money for an average FA. Otherwise its a failure and I'm kinda like "But why...?" That shit usually fails.
