The Colts would probably first look internally - if there are any defensive position coaches that they think could take the step up to coordinator. Jonathan Gannon was someone who could have been promoted but he went to Philly with Sirianni.

If there are no internal candidates, Reich may select someone he has coached with in the past with the Eagles or Chargers.

2016-2017 Eagles coaches:

Defensive Coordinator – Jim Schwartz
Defensive Line – Chris Wilson
Linebackers – Ken Flajole
Secondary – Cory Undlin
Safeties – Tim Hauck
Defensive Quality Control/Defensive Line – Phillip Daniels
Defensive Quality Control/Secondary – Dino Vasso

2014-2015 Chargers coaches:

Defensive Coordinator – John Pagano
Defensive Line – Don Johnson
Linebackers – Mike Nolan (2015), Joe Barry (2014)
Assistant Linebackers – Bobby King
Secondary – Ron Milus
Assistant Secondary – Greg Williams
Defensive Quality Control – Chris Shula (2015), Chad Grimm (2014)

In addition to this year's staff getting interview requests, Jonathan Gannon - last year's DB position coach who followed Sirianni to Philly to be the Eagles DC - already has 3 interview requests to be a head coach. Talk about a fast riser!

Texans requested permission to interview Eagles’ DC Jonathan Gannon for their HC job, per source. Gannon now has been requested to interview for three HC vacancies: Texans, Broncos, Vikings.

This is a little odd - but again, it is the Raiders.

So the team has not dismissed GM Mike Mayock yet. But it looks like they are going to interview GM candidates - does Mayock have to re-interview to keep his current job? Or do they move him to some other position and bring in someone new? Anyway, Rapoport says that Dodds is on their short list for interviews.

The Raiders have not yet moved on from GM Mike Mayock. But they seem to be paving the way to do so.

Expect the Raiders to put in a request for Colts executive Ed Dodds, as well.

OK - now Mayock is fired per Breer.

Couldn't make it up—When Mayock was leaving the building, the guys working for him thought he was leaving for the day. No one said anything to them. And they found out like the rest of us via social media.

Dodds for Carr seems like an even trade.

Not really though.

Da Bears are requesting interviews with Dodds and Eberflus:

The Bears requested an interview with Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds for their GM job, source said.

One of the NFL's most respected scouts, Dodds has turned down other GM opportunities. This could be the year.
