Defense, defense defense. Get someone who can get after the qb. Find a pass rush. This is supposed to be a deep draft in guys that can do that. Polian used to say you never pass on a guy that can put pressure on the qb. You don't need a great rb to win the superbowl. You need a pass rush.

Unless it's Fournette fuck a RB in the 1st it's not a need when you have Gore and Turbin, definitely not in the 1st.

The right side of the line is horrible it got caved in constantly last year especially vs division opponets

If we don't protect Luck a RB, CB , or LB in the 1st won't mean shit

I recognize that RB is a need, I just don't agree that RB is ever a 1st round need. I am solidly in the build the Lines and the rest follows kind of guy. Get a Franchise QB, then build a great OL and a solid defensive front 7 and a team will do great things.

Because we have gore. He and turbin can easily carry the load this year

For a guy who loves great defense, the Hankins pickup has got me pretty wet.

I had to change my panties a few times.

Finally....a true NT. Sh*t

Getting details of Johnathan Hankins' 3 yr deal w #Colts. No signing bonus, but $3M '17 base salary and $7M roster bonus guaranteed this yr

@HolderStephen 19m19 minutes ago
Another $4.5M guaranteed in '18. Base salaries in 2018-19 are $7.5M and $8M, respectively.

@HolderStephen 17m17 minutes ago
This structure, even without the signing bonus, still gives Hankins $10M this year. But it helps #Colts in terms of future cap hits.

@HolderStephen
This is the kind of deal you can do when you have a good chunk of cap space, as the #Colts did.

The no signing bonus thing is becoming a Ballard feature. He does not want much future cap hit on this year's signings.

2017 Cap Hit = $10.000m (100% guaranteed)
2018 Cap Hit = $12.000m (only $4.500m guaranteed; $7.500m cap space cleared if cut)
2019 Cap hit = $08.000m (no dead cap hit)

So, $14.500m will get paid out and he is playing for the other $15.500m.

I like it.

Cheers,

RB is a 3rd or 4th round level need, along with CB. LB is a Round 1 AND 2 need for this team.

Cheers,
This contract is so perfect, he is what 25 now? The Colts are on the hook for 2 years where at worst he is probably better than we have had, and at best very good. Year three he is only 27 and there is no gauranteed money and it is easy to renegotiate a long term deal, and if he sucks cut him. I love the contracts Mike Bluem is facilitating.
