On a similar note ...... From 1970 through 1978, there were no Monday Night Football games for the final week of the season. Starting in 1979 and through 2002, they had Monday Night Football games for the final week of the season. Starting in 2003 and through the Present, Monday Night Football games were once again discontinued in order to not put potential playoff teams at a disadvantage, especially if they had to play on Monday night and then come back and play a post-season game only 5 days later on a Saturday. o
