There's a clip of Dennis Rodman trying to explain what he studied and looked for when certain guys shot in order to position himself to get as many rebounds as he did at his size.

He doesn't quite explain what was going on in his mind very well at all in the clip. But he clearly saw something on tape and on the court that other guys didn't.

Point being that being a great player doesn't make you a great teacher, evaluator, coach, etc.

Just saw Richardson throwing at his pro day. Looked like crap. Not hitting anyone in stride. Receivers having to run back to catch underthrown balls. Having to contort themselves and stretch jump up to catch hospital balls. He threw one nice deep ball, but other than that...woof. No thanks.

Pro days mean shit. Jeff George had supposedly the greatest pro day ever and was a total POS. I am not saying we should be all in on AR, but how he throws with nobody in his face means zilch. If it really was bad I’m more interested in his reaction. On the other hand we may be more interested in Lamar now

Or they're smart and start negotiating with Lamar after the draft. I could see a draft and stash strategy where they get Richardson and Lamar, building for a specific style of offense, which will allow Richardson time to sit on the bench and develop accuracy and learn from the greatest dual threat QB that's ever played in the NFL. If Ballard really goes Levis after all the negative shit coming out about him, it will be time for Ballard to go, because as good as he is at evaluating other positions, he will have proven at that point that he can’t evaluate the two most important positions in the NFL: passer and pass rusher. He can put the most talented roster possible around deficiencies at those two positions, and the result will be mediocrity and failure.
