Ballard screws with people every off season. 90% of the time he does exactly what he said he was going to do. He is not dumb enough to trade any future stock for any of these guys. He will stay at 4 and take whichever one of his top 3 QB's roll to him. I would not be shocked to see him trade back and take McKee late first, or with our 2nd. if he makes it there and gain additional picks.

His size is a concern, but he's about the only QB I'd want to see the Colts trade up for. Other than his size, which again I'll admit is a big concern, he checks nearly every box for a solid to great QB. And his elusiveness and the trend of the NFL doing everything they can to protect the QB helps in the size aspect.
All that being said, I'm also perfectly fine with the Colts sitting on the 4th pick and drafting any of Young/Stroud/Richardson/Levis, or trading up to the 3 pick and not giving up the farm to do so if they really like any of the 2-3 left over at 3. |

With all of the concerns with each of the top 3 QB's, I wouldn't want to be trading up for any of them. Yes Young might turn out to be the next Mahomes, but i think there is a huge amount of risk in that happening, and i am not comfortable mortgaging the future to potentially get that. I think Levis, Stroud and Young are all QB's that with the 4th overall pick I am happy to select and build the franchise around.
Young could be another RGIII, someone who has a great start to their career but flames out due to early injuries, that then means they have to try to change the way they play the game, and they don't have the same level of impact. I am happy with any of the top 3 with the 4th pick, but not to have to use multiple picks to get any of them. As i said in a post a few weeks ago, the guy i believe ends up with the greatest value will be Anthony Richardson if he is selected in the mid to late first round. |

I'm hoping Irsay learned his lesson this season to stay the hell out of football operations. I get it's his team and he pays the bills, but why hire a GM then, right? Irsay is the wildcard in the whole draft/QB conundrum.

Irsay was a GM. I would hope he would know that is akin to showing your hand in poker. I think it was more messing with people.

He wasnt a good GM. He has had a tendency to say what he thinks.
