I'm hoping that it will be shades of the New York Jets' 1981 season.

The Jets were blown out by a score of 31-0 on Opening Day, and started the season at 0-3 ...... then they went 10-2-1 the rest of the way to claim their first playoff berth since the 1969 season, the year after they won the Super Bowl.

In my rat's ass of an opinion, the Colts' play-calling was way too conservative on both 1st and 2nd downs of overtime, immediately after they burned the Chiefs with the bomb to their 16-yardline...... they were wielding the hammer, and they didn't even try to use it.

First down play action should have been the call. They were selling out for the JT run.

I never felt they’d win. With that said, it was a much better showing. A lot more positives coming out of this one than Ravens game.

I disagree ......considering how much time was still left on the clock when Steichen made those 2 ultra-conservative running calls on both 1st and 2nd down, and the fact that the other team's quarterback was Patrick Mahomes, I would say that he was playing for the loss.

Given the state of the WR corps, I’m willing to cut Steichen some slavk.

Plan A in the red zone, Alec Pierce, was sitting on the bench, wearing a boot.
Ashton Dulin didn’t suit up.
Keenan Allen was targeted 5 times and only managed to pull in one reception.
The hands that have kept Laquon Treadwell on the bench for most of his career were on display, for all to see, when he almost bumbled away a perfect 48 yard strike from Jones in overtime.
Neither Burks nor Gould come to mind when you utter the phrase clutch receiver.
Tyler Warren was averaging 3.5 yards per reception.
And they were paying special attention to Downs.

I don’t see how you blame Steichen on the first running play. It’s 1st and 10 and the Chiefs have 10 men in the box. There’s almost a full 40 seconds left on the play clock when the ball is snapped.

There’s no question that the run was a bad call, but your QB has to survey the Defense and audible out of the run. At the very least, call a time out and regroup.
