Default Rivers will start in Seattle.

Per Ian Rapaport, citing team sources.

Mixed emotions about it. Has he showed enough for the confidence, or is he starting because of who he is? Did Leonard not show enough? I know, rookie, blah, blah, blah. He didn't do anything last week to make me say, NO, and his feet can save a broken play. I guess we will see. If he looks 44 years old Sunday, pull him and end the experiment.

It makes Sundays' game full of possibilities. For me, had they entered this game with Leonard starting, I was certain of a loss. Now with Rivers at the helm, I have no freakin' idea of what this game will be like. I still don't like their chances, even with a healthy DJ, I wouldn't have expected a win. I don't think Rivers will make the difference, but I am intrigued.

Fire everyone, but you can't because you don't have any 1st round picks for the next two years.
Not a serious football organization.

Andrew Luck quitting set us back 10 years. This is year 7.
I hope Phil doesn't get injured out there. But hes already a multimillionaire and can afford healthcare coverage.

Someone said vested veterans get healthcare for 5 years after their career is over.

This is just Phil reupping his health coverage.

I mean, he’s got like 12 kids so that’s probably a smart move. Lol.

Do you really think that two first round draft picks not being available makes you incapable of firing everyone (something I am against right now). One of those picks is Sauce so you are really out one first round pick (and it would definitely not be of Sauces value). It is nothing. Would stop no-one from taking over here. If our owners want to start over they not only can, but most likely would get whomever they wanted to run the organization. These women appear to be quality and they are who we are now. It will take time to put their stamp on us but we should wait a few years before declaring anything about us yet. They deserve a chance. Each generation has been better so far (not a big stretch after Bob). Let's hope it keeps going.

It doesn't prevent Carlie from firing people, but it might limit our replacement options at GM and HC b/c candidates could very well see it that they won't be able to fix the QB situation until 2028 at the earliest.

It might. But I would guess that most of these people have huge enough egos that lacking one first round draft pick is something they all believe they can overcome. It will more to have with how they view our new ownership I would bet.
