Default We just can't have nice things

After the Manning era......

Wish Luck didn't retire - the front office and coaching was a disaster

Wasted pick on AR - reminds me of drafting Art Schlichter, not alone though in failed QB picks. Scouting failure

This season was promising but we can't have nice things

Art Schlichter? Are you shitting me? AR may not pan out (the book isn't closed on him yet) buy to compare him in any way to that criminal piece of shit is wrong dude. Other thane fact that they were both the fourth pick and a QB they have almost zero in common.

We're not the only team to strike out on a QB draft pick. Jets, 49ers, Cardinals, yada yada. In fact most teams have struck out a time or two. I think the Packers may be one of the few teams that hit the bulls eye 3 straight times.

Some teams don't even have 3 in their history.

The "greatest of all time" of the old era was Johnny U. He wore the shoe. I still can't get over Luck. There was Bert Jones who also didn't want to be a Colt.

The reality is in the NFL the franchise QB is becoming less.

The only time that Bert Jones did not want to be a Colt was in his final season with the team, in 1981. That was when he feuded with running back Curtis Dickey when Jones alleged that Dickey did not block for him, and he was angry with Robert Irsay for not paying him the salary that he thought that he was worth and for Irsay allowing the excellent team that Joe Thomas had built to deteriorate into the worst team in the NFL.

In 2009, Bert was one of the 39 surviving members of the 1975 Colts team to attend a reunion of the 1975 AFC East championship team at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, a team that was Jim Irsay's favorite Colts team of all-time (Jim was a 16 year-old waterboy for that 1975 Colts team.)

This is a picture of Bert with Lydell Mitchell at that reunion at Lucas Oil Stadium in 2009.

I think our best bet is to go all in on defense! We already have some nice pieces in place, we need to build a monster that only gives up 14 or less a game, even with Riley or AR we should be able to score 14+ if we sign our WRs and with Warren and JT. Forget chasing QBs it never works for us.....
