I didn't realize he played for the Ravens

I think he is going to be very good
Simon was one of the guys that I was targeting from early on to take over the OLB[EDGE] role from Walden. He has been a very solid player for a pretty good HOU defense.

His big hit is availability playing in only 45 of a possible 64 games in his 4 years. His first year in BAL, he was a backup so only saw action in 7 games (thus almost half of his "missing" games) but once he got to HOU, he saw action in 11, 16 and 11 games over the three seasons. Got to cut down on those missing games.

I gotta believe that the "plan" for OLB is to:

Play Sheard and Simon on run downs as the "starters."

Sub in a high draft pick rookie (1-15) as the 3rd OLB on passing downs to try and keep everyone fresh and let the rookie pin back his ears and let loose.

Have guys like Mingo, Ayers or another draftee and to a lesser possibility Bazzie, Mount or King as sub-package guys.

That does not "fix" the OLB permanently as you want two PLUS PLUS studs at OLB and we will have, hopefully, one (2017 1-15) and then two guys who are solid/good in Sheard / Simon.

It will take another high draft pick in future years to "fix" OLB but this is a very good make over.

Cheers,
