Namath's exact words were "Coach, if they need press clippings to get ready, they're in trouble." I used the word incendiary (along with the world championship game portion of my citation), as I was paraphrasing.
That wasn't the point. The point was that Namath told Coach Ewbank that the Colts were in trouble if they needed extra motivation from something that he said in order to win the game.
