Has a team ever had this big of a collapse? We were 8-2 and legitimately looked like the best team in the NFL. Our point-differential through the first, what, 8 or 9 games was historic? All indicators pointed to us winning 12+ games and making the playoffs. Yet, at the same time, is anyone surprised this has happened? Obviously the Jones injury made this loss eminent, but this has to be up there with one of the worst collapses in NFL history, yet for some reason not surprising.
I feel like Pittsburgh really exposed us and gave everyone the blueprint on how to beat the Colts. Stop the run, blitz often, and make Jones beat you through the air. Then Buckner and Ward get hurt. Jones breaks his leg and can’t move. Everything just kind of happened at once. I still think we are a top 10 team when heathy. Thats what’s frustrating to me. Can’t overcome all these injuries.
