The crystal ball is in the shop for repairs so here goes.
This game and all others moving forward are essentially playoff games barring a collapse by our nearest competitors for the 4th or 7th seed. Rivers has a Herculean task ahead of him but I’m oddly comfortable with him squeaking out a win if we can manage a pass rush that produces sacks and turnovers. That said, I see one of two outcomes.
Defense comes alive and essentially wins this game for us. Colts 17-14
Taylor plays lights out while Rivers is efficient along with solid D. Colts 23 -17.
Either way the D needs to bring it for us to win. Unless we get some unexpected defensive or special teams score or some incredibly short fields I can’t see them generating more than a modest score. I’m sure check-downs will be a big part of the game plan so I pray Rivers doesn’t telegraph those balls. We could see a pick six real quick if Rivers can’t look off those corners. Rivers was a master of play-action if given just a little time. I wouldn’t expect it, but if he shows out it will be a product of play-action off of good protection.
