To get those low numbers, you have to guarantee a lot and face higher cap hits at the tail end. If you go to him with an offer of $275 Million with $225 Million guaranteed, he’ll be happy to sign even if the first year cap hit is small…especially if he thinks that you’ll use the cap space on an elite pass rusher.
