Even Anthony Richardson skeptics would not compare him to a slow, lumbering, below-average passer like Tim Tebow. The writer is ignoring the fact that Richardson has not only had many passes dropped by his receivers, but also the fact that he has improved significantly since being benched back in early November.
When Tebow played for the Broncos, his team was 8-5 heading into the final 3 weeks of the 2011 season. They only needed 1 win to secure a playoff berth ...... not only did they lose all 3 games to finish the season at 8-8, but Tebow's offense put up a grand total of 3 points in the season finale against a below-average Kansas City Chiefs team. Fortunately for Tebow and the Broncos, they wound up backing into the playoffs anyway with an 8-8 record because their division was so mediocre.
2 years later in 2013, Tebow couldn't even cut it as Tom Brady's back-up for the Patriots, and they released him before the start of the season.
Will Richardson wind up having a disappointing career when all is said and done ??? That's possible, because it is still too early to tell how things will pan out for him in the long run ...... but comparing him to Tebow and acting as though he is as inept and talent-lacking as he was is rather absurd. This sportswriter sounds like an amateurish hack, at best.
