Need to play him to see if he has learned anything.

Agreed! He will likely be carrying the starter label until DJ gets back on the field so unless Uncle Phil can starting hitting folks farther down the field, it may be worth throwing him into the fire right away.... Just sayin.....

Shane Steichen: Philip Rivers will be the starting quarterback against San Francisco.

On Richardson, Steichen says "he's cleared from the eye standpoint, but we're just starting to work him back in physically"

Would like to see him start a game or two this year but having him sit and work with Rivers is also a great thing for the young man. Bringing it along slowly also seems wise.

Rivers will be the starter even when AR is ready.

Steichen doesn’t think he can win with AR. Or Leonard for that matter.

We’re stuck with old man Rivers I’m afraid.

I think if you ask every member of the team which Qb they have the most confidence in the overwhelming majority would be Rivers.

You could tell how much the team rallied around him.

He gives them the best chance to make the playoffs. Once that very slim chance is gone I think they will do like they did Ryan and shut him down and play the younger guys.

I know everyone wants to see the young guys, But for some of these guys on the team this is the closest they have ever been to a playoff bid.

QB is way more cerebral than it is physical IMO. And Uncle Phil is way ahead of the rest.

Qustion for all of you wanting. Riley or AR. Do any of you believe that either of them could audible into a better play than Rivers? Do you think either of them would even know to do it or have the clearance to do it?

Would you all agree that the Pass/Run ratio wasvery different with Phil?

IMO that is because he knows the offense as well if not better than Shane. It's like Manning running his offense. He knows it

Also. Dose anyone remember when everyone was crying for Sam E over Ryan? That didn't work out at all. Because they are NOT ready And neither is Riley.

Well we should try him and find out. I agree. After all hopes, even the slightest hopes, are eliminated

Got some clarity on this.

#Colts QB Anthony Richardson Sr. (orbital fracture/IR) has been cleared for *physical activities* like weight lifting, running and throwing.

However, to be cleared for *football activities* (like practice) he needs to be elevated off IR.

Yesterday, this is essentially what I said right after the end of yesterday's heartbreaking game.

This morning, I changed my mind and said that I think that we should instead go with Riley Leonard. I specifically said that I stand corrected.

Can I change my mind back again, and say that I agree with Steichen's decision to start Rivers ???

Can I stand corrected of standing corrected in the first place ???

If I'm allowed to change my mind twice in a 24-hour period, then I say that I am glad that we are going with Philip Rivers.
