Heard a rumor

Brady goes to the Raiders and replaces Derek Carr.

If that did happen, unless the Raiders start cheating, no more Superbowls for Brady.

HoosierinFL 12-20-2019 12:04 PM

That would be kinda hilarious. Also I think I wouldn't mind Derek Carr to the Colts. Maybe.

I think he would be an upgrade of Brissett, but see him as a guy that will also need a lot of strong support pieces to succeed, but then that is 90% of QBs.

According to Mike Florio, Andrew Luck is going to the Raiders. I'd post his tweet if I knew how. Pro football Talk account

Per this article, which is about 2 weeks old
https://goldengatesports.com/2019/12...uck-las-vegas/

1. the tweet boiled down to a hunch, which seems basically like fan fiction
2. That the Colts would stick with Brissett over Luck if Luck wanted to unretire, which is definitely nonsense
3. That the Raiders would have to trade at least a first round pick, if not more, to Indy in exchange for Luck, which I could imagine Gruden as willing to do.

I could almost imagine a world where Ballard wouldn't trust Luck to come back long enough (or maybe think Luck coming back might hurt the locker room, or that too many fans are angry with him) that he'd be willing to trade Luck for 2 first-rounders and 1 or 2 late round picks.

HoosierinFL 12-20-2019 04:07 PM

This is the text of the PFT tweet from Dec 5

"I have absolutely nothing to base this on whatsoever, but I continue to have a weird feeling that Andrew Luck could be the Week One 2020 starting quarterback of the Las Vegas Raiders"

If the Colts wouldn't pick headcase Luck over can't hit the broadside of a barn Brissett, then good luck ever selling another season ticket. Yes, the fans are mad at Luck, but not nearly as mad as they would be on giving up a franchise QB for a backup.

Chromeburn 12-20-2019 05:24 PM

Fans would get over it. As for lockeroom, that would have to be pretty bad to get that. Organization is looking at a daunting task of finding a new QB. If Luck came back have to think they would welcome him with open arms.

It would take a Kong’s ransom to get Luck away from the Colts.

And now all the offseason bull shit rumors start!! If Irsay allowed that to happen, he would lose what’s left of the fan base.

What if Luck doesn't want to play for the Colts? As long as they keep that detail under wraps until a trade is done, I'd be fine with taking a decent haul for him. At least finish the saga with some value in return.

I big haul. I'm not giving him away. If he just doesn't want to play in Indy some team is going to have give up a lot. Imo, I truly think that Luck is done with football & has moved on with his life.

If he doesn’t want to play for the Colts, after Irsay let him keep all his signing bonus money, than he should rot in hell.

I would have let him keep every cent due to the fact that Pagano & Grigson did everything they could to kill him. Irsay is partially to blame because he kept those two clowns employed way longer than he should have.

Why. Las Vegas is nice to visit, why would you want to live there? The Raiders arent any closer to a championship than the colts.

This is internet nonsense

o

I'm glad that Irsay let Luck keep the bonus money. It was the cool thing to do for a player who gave it his all while he was here, and I believe that it puts the Colts' organization in a generally good light ........ kind of like the antithesis of the reputation that the perennially-cheating Patriots have.

By the same token, after the good-faith gesture that Irsay displayed in allowing Luck to keep all of the bonus money in spite of him walking away from his contract which still had 3 years left on it, I would also expect Luck to act in good faith if I were Irsay ........ meaning that if Luck ever did entertain the idea of a comeback, I would expect my phone to be the first one that was ringing.

No. Unless the Colts have a legit, no doubt franchise QB in place there is no way you trade Luck to another franchise. It would be better to let him rot. Fuck the return value. It’s not worth the damage to the fan base that would come from watching Luck lead a team to the playoffs while the Colts struggle with JB or worse.

Voosh 12-21-2019 11:12 AM

In case it's not obvious, don't ever believe Florio. PFT is TMZ for the NFL. He has also has a hate boner for Irsay that spills over to the whole franchise. I think it stems back to Irsay's arrest.

Butter 12-21-2019 11:56 AM

I would take Luck back in a hot second. That said he isn't coming back.

I was being a little tongue in cheek when I posted that. Florio is a well established Irsay and Colts hater. I was just curious to see what the reaction here would be. Good on you for recognizing it

Never say never but I would be shocked.

No way he is coming back.... no way he would come back and play for a team other than Indy.

Pretty sure he’s under contract with the Colts for 3 more years, but I could be wrong.

The Colts own his rights and they don't expire in retirement.

I'm not retired, but I'm close. When I go, I will go. And once I go, I'm not going back.

He has his degree and his abilities and he can do probably anything he wants to, he's that smart.

Oh, and he had the money to take his time and figure out what that would be. Lucky son of a gun.

Indiana V2 12-25-2019 11:12 PM

The locker room would not be an issue for Luck, he has been to the Colts facility since he retired, but as has been said, he's not coming back.
