I heard it is bad to start a thread the day before, but it seemed to work out okay against the Raiders. I hope Gus has a good plan for Stroud. The guy seems to be legit.

njcoltfan 01-06-2024 08:25 AM

Who do you think assumes TY's dominance over the Texans ? Me, I hope JT runs 25 for 160 and 2 TD's !!! Colts 31- Texans 12.

albany ed 01-06-2024 08:53 AM

I feel the Colts will need to score over 30 to win this game.

Either that, or the Colts' defense will need to play up to its full potential ...... which is pretty darned high.

o

DragonTails 01-06-2024 10:35 AM

1. No turnovers (or roughing the punter)
2. TDs not FGs (but don't get stupid)
3. Win in the trenches
4. Refs don't fk us

82% on Hou ATS, 74% on Hou ML. Thanks a good sign.

Varying defensive strategies would go a long way to get this done.

ChoppedWood 01-06-2024 11:09 AM

Think the entire thing hinges on our DL. Houston has struggled to run the ball. We need to continue that trend and shut down the run early. Then we MUST get to Stroud, we have to make him uncomfortable and get him sped up. If we sit back in zone and just continuously rush 4, even without a top shelf WR unit, he will be able to pick this secondary apart.

IndyNorm 01-06-2024 11:32 AM

Agreed that our DL is going to have to play better than it has the past couple of weeks, and I doubt we will but we really should switch up our coverages. Sitting back in a soft zone today will lose us the game.

Also, no stupid ST penalties that gift them extra possessions and points.

apballin 01-06-2024 11:36 AM

All the talk from national media is how Stroud shreds the cover 3… I feel like the under the radar difference in this game will be the range and tackling ability of Harrison and Cross. That puts 2 rangey guys that will come and hit you on the back end, I look for some big hits and a couple INTs from these guys tonight

omahacolt 01-06-2024 12:24 PM

lets stop the bullshit

it literally cant be an official game day thread if it isn't started on game day. we as a society need to have some standards. this is an internet travesty

That's true ...... but so is a highly intelligent guy with an IQ of about 135 (you) intentionally going out of his way to use the punctuation of a borderline illiterate.

DragonTails 01-06-2024 12:43 PM

Play action on the first play from scrimmage and go over the top to Pierce.

CletusPyle 01-06-2024 01:34 PM

Gus needs to turn these guys loose...man up and send the house at least once and awhile or Stroud will pick us apart! Since I have been about the worse at picking winners this season me picking the Colts to lose could be a good omen!

Texans 33
Colts. 23

Unfortunately one of the personnel differences in this game will be Julian Blackmon being out.

Good news is JT will play this time... but apparently so will Laremy Tunsil. Kelly went out in the first game and I guess we don't know if he's playing yet? Any word?

I see that Zak Moss will also be back to help JT so the 1-2 punch is back in the run game. A nice rotation of Downs, Pierce and Pittman mixed in there is a winning formula in my world.

PLEASE TITS - Spank the Sparkle Kitties!!!!!

Taylor averages 83 yards and has 7 TDs in 5 career games vs. Houston. I think he takes it over. I like the Colts in a close, high scoring affair.

It's an approximation of mine ...... Omaha likes to mess with people, and one of the ways in which he does so is by coming across as a guy who can barely read and write. He is highly intelligent, and (most likely) highly educated.

Well, he is a (smart)ass, so maybe 135 is not out of the question? :D

YDFL Commish 01-06-2024 05:21 PM

Almost all the pundits are picking the Texans. They can stick their predictions up their asses!

100 percent.

I don’t care if it worked out last week, it’s bad mojo. Start the damned game day thread on game day. It’s not that freaking hard.

TheMugwump 01-06-2024 06:43 PM

Keys to a Colts' Win:

1) Run the ball
2) Stop the run
3) Start the game thread the day before

I've got your back C&O.

Thorgrim 01-06-2024 07:48 PM

23-7 good guys

BCN#1 01-06-2024 08:17 PM

Klotz by a FG last minute so maybe 27-24 Klotz win.

Gay and proudly happy ;) as long as he makes the winning FG!

Going on 2 AM in these parts of the Kingdon.... The dudes best win or I will be seriously hating it as I am tired as hell already.

Dewey 5 01-06-2024 08:57 PM

I think the offense will do enough but Gus Bradley & the D worry me.

Colts And Orioles 01-06-2024 09:06 PM

The Steelers beat the Ravens ...... so if this game winds up in a tie, both teams are out UNLESS the Jaguars lose tomorrow ...... if that happens, then the Colts will be the 2023 AFC South champions with a record of 9-7-1.

Would we be here if Richardson had not been hurt....or do we owe this menaingful game to Minshew?

Dewey 5 01-06-2024 09:15 PM

Colts starting on offense.

Dewey 5 01-06-2024 09:18 PM

Free first down. I'll take it

TheMugwump 01-06-2024 09:19 PM

Taylor, Taylor, Pittman. Good. Feed the best players.

TheMugwump 01-06-2024 09:20 PM

Michael Pittman Jr. is a Beast!

Sign that man.

Colts And Orioles 01-06-2024 09:21 PM

o

Minshew DID NOT panic under pressure there ...... he stepped up a bit, kept on looking downfield, and found the nearest receiver for a completion.
