How many wins for the Colts this season?

How do you think the season will unfold? How many wins do you think the Colts will have this year?

Explain your estimate with a follow-up post if you wish.

The Colts schedule is below:

1 - Sept. 11 @ Houston Texans - 1 PM
2 - Sept. 18 @ Jacksonville Jaguars - 1 PM
3 - Sept. 25 Kansas City Chiefs - 1 PM
4 - Oct. 2 Tennessee Titans - 1 PM
5 - Oct. 6 @ Denver Broncos - 8:15 PM (TNF)
6 - Oct. 16 Jacksonville Jaguars - 1 PM
7 - Oct. 23 @ Tennessee Titans - 1 PM
8 - Oct. 30 Washington Commanders - 4:25 PM
9 - Nov. 6 @ New England Patriots - 1 PM
10 - Nov. 13 @ Las Vegas Raiders - 4:05 PM
11 - Nov. 20 Philadelphia Eagles - 1 PM
12 - Nov. 28 Pittsburgh Steelers - 8:15 PM (MNF)
13 - Dec. 4 @ Dallas Cowboys - 8:20 PM (SNF)
14 - BYE WEEK
15 - Dec. 17/18 @ Minnesota Vikings TBD
16 - Dec. 26 Los Angeles Chargers - 8:15 PM (MNF)
17 - Jan. 1 @ New York Giants - 1 PM
18 - Jan. 7/8 Houston Texans TBD

Edit: I copied and pasted the schedule from the Colts.com website where they had it posted in multiple formats (via graphic, text, etc). The text format version initially had the opponents for the first two games reversed which they later corrected. I fixed it here, too, to show the correct order - Texans, then Jaguars.

I see losses

Chiefs
Denver
@Titans
Dallas
Chargers

Probably lose another one in there Could win one of those also I guess

- Win

That's 13 wins. But I am guessing we may lose another 2 games, maybe the Raiders, Cowgirls, Vikes, or God forbid, the fucking Jags or Pats.

So, I say 11-12 wins. Vegas line is Colts over/under 9.5.

JAFF 05-12-2022 09:31 PM

If the Colts win in Jacksonville it will be a successful season

Indystu2 05-12-2022 09:38 PM

Losses to:
Chefs
Broncs
Thumbtacks
Raiders
....and let's avoid the annual Yags collapse!

13 - 3 - 1

You can disregard my lofty prediction for our beloved team, but you take this to the bank ..... the Colts will indeed beat the Jaguars in northeastern Florida this season.

Brylok 05-13-2022 12:59 PM

Somewhere between 9 and 12 wins. Hopefully good enough to win the division.

Ironshaft 05-13-2022 03:16 PM

Yes, my glasses are tinted Colts blue.

I say 13+ wins. Defense is stacked, run game should be brutal, O-line is above average and this is the best team Matt Ryan will have played on in years.

Not a single team on our schedule I fear as "unwinnable."

Agreed!!!! Champeensheep!!!!!!:D

YDFL Commish 05-13-2022 05:22 PM

Well, we never beat the Steelers. So count that as a loss.

The Pats at Foxboro means a league wide mandate that the Colts get screwed by the refs. Count that as a loss.

We lose to the Jags once a year, so there's 1 loss.

Split with the Tits, 1 loss.

Lose 3 of 4 to the AFC West, because the pundits seem to think every team in that division is going the Super Bowl.

At this rate, I don't see how we win a game.

I wouldn't worry about the refs. Since the game is at Foxboro, you know ol' Bill has all his cheating methods available for use so that the Cheats can easily win the game. They don't need the refs help for home games.

Your scenario has the Colts at 10-7 and is very close to my line of thinking when I predicted 9-12 wins. We're on the same wavelength, man.

IndyNorm 05-13-2022 08:40 PM

1 - Sept. 11 @ Houston Texans- L. We should win, but we always lose game 1.
2 - Sept. 18 @ Jacksonville Jaguars- L. Again, we should win but we always lose at the Jagoffs.
3 - Sept. 25 Kansas City Chiefs- W. I think the Chiefs will take a step back this year.
4 - Oct. 2 Tennessee Titans- W. As long as Ryan doesn't channel his inner Wentz and throw any left handed pick 6s we win.
5 - Oct. 6 @ Denver Broncos- L. Tough road game on a short week.
6 - Oct. 16 Jacksonville Jaguars- W. At least he had better
7 - Oct. 23 @ Tennessee Titans- L. We're not quite ready to put a stranglehold on the division.
8 - Oct. 30 Washington Commanders- W. As long as our CBs don't drop too many Wentz Ints we'll win this one easy.
9 - Nov. 6 @ New England Patriots- L. We're not quite ready to win @ the Cheats.
10 - Nov. 13 @ Las Vegas Raiders- W. McDickface will have the Raiders all kinds of screwed up by the time we play them.
11 - Nov. 20 Philadelphia Eagles- W. We take care of business at home......
12 - Nov. 28 Pittsburgh Steelers- W ....against both Penn teams.
13 - Dec. 4 @ Dallas Cowboys- L. We always suck at Dallas.
14 - BYE WEEK
15 - Dec. 17/18 @ Minnesota Vikings- W. We always play well against Minny.
16 - Dec. 26 Los Angeles Chargers - W. We win this one in a bit of a shootout as we're able to pull ahead when Staley decides to try and one up Frank by going for it on 4th and 15 from his own 5.
17 - Jan. 1 @ New York Giants- W. NYG will be turrible this year.
18 - Jan. 7/8 Houston Texans- W. Easy win at home to clinch a playoff spot.

So that puts us at 11-6.

Start the year 2-0 and get ready for a rockin home opener vs the Chiefs

TheMugwump 05-17-2022 06:03 PM

Keep Ryan on his feet, they can win 14+ games against this weak schedule.

woodyscolts 05-18-2022 12:30 PM

Why was there no choice for 20 wins???

AlwaysSunnyinIndy 09-05-2022 10:24 AM

With the regular season about to start - is everybody still happy with their initial guess or have you changed your mind at all?

I still think 13-14 is within reach.

Dam8610 09-05-2022 11:28 AM

Going to do this a little different. Assigning percentage confidence in a Colts win for each game, then rounding to nearest quarter win. For reference (if anyone else wants to do this):

0-0.1 = 0 wins
0.11-0.39 = .25 wins
0.4-0.6 = .5 wins
0.61-0.89 = .75 wins
0.9-1 = 1 win

1 - Sept. 11 @ Houston Texans - 1 PM .9
2 - Sept. 18 @ Jacksonville Jaguars - 1 PM .8
3 - Sept. 25 Kansas City Chiefs - 1 PM .4
4 - Oct. 2 Tennessee Titans - 1 PM .6
5 - Oct. 6 @ Denver Broncos - 8:15 PM (TNF) .4
6 - Oct. 16 Jacksonville Jaguars - 1 PM .9
7 - Oct. 23 @ Tennessee Titans - 1 PM .35
8 - Oct. 30 Washington Commanders - 4:25 PM .8
9 - Nov. 6 @ New England Patriots - 1 PM .6
10 - Nov. 13 @ Las Vegas Raiders - 4:05 PM .4
11 - Nov. 20 Philadelphia Eagles - 1 PM .75
12 - Nov. 28 Pittsburgh Steelers - 8:15 PM (MNF) .75
13 - Dec. 4 @ Dallas Cowboys - 8:20 PM (SNF) .4
14 - BYE WEEK
15 - Dec. 17/18 @ Minnesota Vikings TBD .6
16 - Dec. 26 Los Angeles Chargers - 8:15 PM (MNF) .75
17 - Jan. 1 @ New York Giants - 1 PM .9
18 - Jan. 7/8 Houston Texans TBD .9

Predicted W-L =11.5-5.5, or right around 12-5, which is the record I think they will end up with. AFC West is a rough draw, but NFC Least and the Vikings balance it out.

Why so low on the Colts @ TEN and also why so high on Colts vs. LAC? Curious.

I had said 13 wins....after seeing the preseason, if I could do it over I would say 11 wins. To me the preseason was a complete waste of time this season, I have no idea if this team is better than last season!

rcubed 09-05-2022 03:18 PM

I believe I initially said 11 and I will stick with that.

apballin 09-05-2022 04:27 PM

Yep sticking with 13, preseason isn’t changing anything for me just made me feel better about the defense (Gilmore) specifically

Taylor coming in fresh… get off to a good start with him unlike last season when he was underutilized until week 4 or 5

I really think Taylor will crack 2k this season

When they prove they can sweep the Titans I'll believe it will happen. As for the Chargers, I like the Colts defense against Herbert and it's at home, which always gives a bit of a confidence bump.

Chromeburn 09-06-2022 09:15 AM

My theory on that is the Colts are the better team by a fairly decent margin so hopefully having a better QB who is also a leader will prevent a collapse.
