We have traded WR Martavis Bryant to the Raiders for their third round pick (75th overall).

WOW. But I guess he fits in better with the misfits than the Steelers

The basement is flooding, perhaps Omaha is there poking fun at his mother ...

ZiaColt 04-26-2018 10:18 PM

and Landry and Evans still out there FWIW

YDFL Commish 04-26-2018 10:20 PM

I think at some point I would trade up for Landry.

smitty46953 04-26-2018 10:21 PM

Lions take Ragnow? Little early I think  Rather have Hernandez or Wynn

Most have dropped off this thread but I am staying especially for the possibility of the Colts trading up .............. For a RT so Dam needs a straight jacket

I can't fathom how anyone would be upset with this pick.

Because the pick isn’t made in a vacuum. It’s made after Ballard ignored the line in two free agency periods and a previous draft. And the pick took away a difference maker for a D that sorely needs one. I can’t understand how you can value a guard so much that he’s worth a #6 pick but don’t see one as worth overpaying in free agency.

Let me ask you this - how many guards currently in the league would be worth the #6 pick in the draft? What about defensive players?

Not going do the research, but imagine Andrew Luck would say "Quenton Nelson" is ...

Bet he’d have paid Norwell in free agency too. Or Pugh. Or addressed it last year through free agency or the draft.

Apparently 1

There is no one on this team that is more important than Andrew Luck....NO ONE

If he is not in the lineup we dont win. Plain and simple.... Now with the next couple of picks I expect a RB for Mack to compliment. Which will take more pressure off of Luck

Ballard did not ignore the Oline in FA. He was smart enough to not over pay. He has an olineman that will be locked in for 5 yrs... It was a safe no brained pick.

Protect Luck run the ball.

Ballard drafted and added in FA a lot on D last yr. They will be factors in the starting lineup now that Pagshit is gone and they have a new vision on D. I am sure Eberfus has evaluated the current players and has put in his evaluations.

THink about it like this..... Dallas spent multiple draft picks putting together an outstanding line and even made an over rated Dam Prescott look good.

If we cant run the ball we will never be a SB contending team.

BTW. Who did you want with the 6th pick?

How do you know it was about paying more over the player not wanting to come here?

It's not a fucking auction!!! It doesnt always go to the highes bidder

so you are ok with overpaying for a guard, but not over drafting. That is so ridiculous, no reason for anyone to talk to you anymore.

Indiana V2 04-26-2018 10:43 PM

I have a feeling we're going to be selecting a RB and WR in the second round.

What’s so hard to understand? The Colts have a lot of cap space and few players that require that money coming due over the next few years. Especially with a consistently rising salary cap. How often do they make picks in the top 10 of the draft?

VeveJones007 04-26-2018 10:51 PM

Move up for Landry.

VeveJones007 04-26-2018 10:56 PM

Do the Pats or Jags take Ridley, or could he fall to Colts in 2nd?

Nvm, wow Atlanta. Bryan as a 3 tech anyone?

Fair enough, obviously true I don’t know why a player chooses a particular location. But I do know what Ballard has said about free agency and seen the deals he has made. Is it a stretch to look at those and believ Ballard was not the highest bidder? I don’t think so.

Look, I think it was a stupid pick. I’m on record and there is not much else to say. Shit goes on. I’m amazed at how pissy some of you get because I’m not sucking Ballard’s dick for addressing something I think he should have already addressed. Or for valuing top ten picks over cap space - which is apparently fucking retarded too. Time to move the fuck on and see how this shit goes.

You happy horseshit dickheads can shut the fuck up. There's plenty of reason to question the wisdom of this pick and you fuck heads are bitching at a new poster and trying to shout him down when he is making calm, rational posts about what he thinks. He is not insulting you, or the Colts, he is stating his opinion and doing a much better job of backing it up than the slack jawed yes man act so many of you are putting on.

He's not Dam. Stop putting that on him. Unless you're ready to bitch at GBB the same way, why don't I see that anywhere? Get the fuck out of here with this ganging up on people bullshit.

Look we all have to hope Nelson turns into an All Pro. Anything else is a disappointment. He's a Colt now, let's hope he fires up there comicon nerds we have on the OL right now. But guards are not difference makers. Our LBs suck. Our pass rush sucks. And regardless of how much Ballard did it didn't try, he did not succeed in making the OL better through FA. The consequence is that he had to burn a really high pick on a fucking guard. So we miss out on helping our front 7. NOT GOOD.

Your way of thinking is not the only way. Stop playing dumb and stop pretending like any other opinion is automatically ridiculous just because you feel threatened by it. Grow the fuck up. Especially you Puck.

You clearly have no clue how the cap works under the current agreement.

VeveJones007 04-26-2018 11:10 PM

As I said leading up to the draft, I’m okay with the Nelson pick even though I would have gone a different direction.

That being said, it will look bad if Hernandez or Daniels are there in Rd2.

Not sure where Colts stand currently with the 89% of cap that must be spent over a 4 year period. That being said with last years draft, this years draft and the minor FA signings over two years Ballard will have a much better idea as to where he should be investing FA monies and will actually be forced to over the course of the next two off seasons. While I would have liked that difference maker on defense I'm more comfortable with someone coming to my team that is going to be hungry and working their way to the big payday than someone who just got a big payday. I've seen what FA o-linemen did to Luck for 5 years, worked out swell for Luck.

I wonder how much the Jags d line factored into Ballard’s choice of Nelson. Now the Colts might stand a chance against them.
