Pinter has looked like shit, so has the entire line but my question is why? I find it difficult to believe that he is to weak to play guard. He has issues with bull rushes as has been pointed out, but if that was the only issue on this line we would be flying. JT has been a stud at pass protection in the past, he is built like a rock and has zero fear. He is the real deal. Until this group plays like a unit it is impossible to say that one guy is the issue. When you have 7-8 guys (I include our QB, RB and TE) who are not on the same page the biggest culprit is coaching. They (the line) don’t seem to know what the fuck they are supposed to do in relation to each other. Weird because that was a strong point for this staff and unit until recently. Not giving up on this group yet but sure not getting excited about them.

Fair point, and perhaps I referred strongly to it being a wasted pick. I would probably say that he wasn't worthy of a first rounder though.

Who was the Patsies poster who said that Addai was nothing more than a gangly 3rd down back and that Maroney was far superior?

Ah, the famous local scout report.

Ultimately, Addai was definitely a wasted first round pick even if he contributed in that Superbowl with like 10 catches. In hindsight, we should have just resigned Edge. He went on to having another good 4 years in the league.

I'd loved to have kept Edge, and Polian wanted to keep him, but they couldn't do it with the size (length) that Edge wanted and deserved.

Manning and Harrison alone were already like 25% of the cap, prime Reggie needed to be signed that same off-season and they knew in the near future guys in their prime like Freeney, Mathis, Clark, Sanders, etc. would need contracts.

There was also an upward trend in RB-by-committee happening. For what it's worth: Rhodes + Addai rushed for more yards in 2006 than Edge + Rhodes did in 2005. And together their salaries were like half of what Edge ended up getting in ARZ.

The cap was created to redistribute talent, and it worked

There are some who ignore that. Wait until the end of the season and people want to buy every free agent available

To be fair, there was a season or two that he ran very timidly.

The Eagles are what we are trying to be. But to do that you have to consistently spend high picks on your lines. They also invested in WRs.
