Which is weird considering at the same time last year he said he was fully committed to Rivers. But these comments seem a lot like his comments after a year of Jacoby.

Ballards going to do his on Thursday. We'll see what he has to say

apballin 01-12-2022 06:33 AM

Jeff Saturday said “colts need to move on from Wentz”

glowinski wasn't terrible. he didn't suck

they aren't moving q to lt. which is why we should probably trade him

THAT is a retarded take. (not the move him, the trade him)

They are not going to do either. Ballard basically laughed at anyone that thought he should be moved to LT. And I agree.

JAFF 01-14-2022 05:53 PM

How about moving Smith?

So then we don't have a LT or RT. That should work well.

I think he meant moving Smith to LT, but with Jaff, who knows.

Yeah, you're right. I read it wrong.

Finding are RT is easier than a LT. Where did we find Smith?

Well, I guess the powers that be don't think that Smith would be a good LT. Otherwise, they probably would have done that this past season.

This is the hard truth, but we won't do it. Ballard called him a hall of famer yesterday. He's great, but not for $22M per year.

Hoopsdoc 01-14-2022 09:34 PM

Some more cryptic comments from Irsay today about being all in or don’t enter the building. Also apologized again.

I can’t help but think that major changes are coming. More than likely at quarterback but with Jimmy, you never really know.

All I know is, the man is pissed. And the fact that Frank and Ballard still have jobs means they agreed to make the changes Jim feels are necessary.

Does this Jason Spears guy on the For the Colture podcast have a reputation? Claims to have inside sources, but I don't know.

From what he said, all three heads are done with Wentz unless there's just nothing else out there. Irsay allegedly never wanted him but doesn't like to meddle. He was super pissed, though, and he's ready to just eat Wentz's contract.

Or does this guy just talk?

Discflinger 01-15-2022 03:40 AM

Shit thread indeed. Mostly because of a shit team. Buck needs to take over this team in the locker room.

i don't know what sources that spears guy has. i assume he has someone telling him stuff since he did get the drop on some coaching hires if i remember right.

that said, it was clear to me how they used wentz late in the season what they thought of his ability to perform in the system. and hearing how some of the beat writers are saying it, it is very likely wentz is gone.

apballin 01-15-2022 01:08 PM

I’m guessing coming into last year all 3 had a different QB they wanted and Ballard and Irsay were sold by Reich on his boy

We know Ballard liked Love

Now the question is who does Irsay want because something tells me he’s intervening here

Who’s an upgrade? Can Reich work with a veteran QB that might take some playcalling away from Reich?

Honestly if it’s not Rodgers or Wilson are we upgrading?

All we need is a game manager that doesn’t make the stupid mistake, Wentz didn’t throw a lot of picks but he had a lot of costly game changing turnovers fumbles and INT

He had Luck and Rivers. And they both changed the plays mostly correctly

Derek Carr would be a great option. And although pricey not near what Rogers would be and once again FUCK WILSON!!!

I would roll with Sam before I brought in Wilson. Fuck that selfish dude. I wouldn't mind Carr being our QB. Dude is underrated considering some of the shitty Raider teams he has played on.

apballin 01-15-2022 06:25 PM

What’s the deal with Wilson?

I’d take a Wilson / Taylor combo any day

I can't remember why there was talk about him leaving LV last year. Was it him? Was it Gruden? I just remember wanting him here less than Stafford but more than Wentz.

And yeah, what's with Wilson?

I like Carr, but is he going to be available?

I'd be surprised if he will be...but he would be a perfect fit for this offense!

Puck 01-15-2022 10:26 PM

All I can say is look at Allen before and after Diggs.

Diggs is phenomenal

I've never seen Allen have a better game than he is having tonight....guy can't miss, he is dropping in some amazing passes!

its a boat race!!!!!!!

rcubed 01-26-2022 03:41 PM

I guess Brian Baker is the first

Mike Chappell
@mchappell51
Can confirm Colts not retaining d-line coach Brian Baker. @zkeefer, @HolderStephen had it first, i believe.

Brylok 01-27-2022 12:09 PM

Eberflus is the second. He's going to the Bears per Keefer.
I hope that isn't a mistake, letting him go. The Colts are sort of a mess right now.

rcubed 01-27-2022 01:41 PM

Kind of hard not to let a guy go when its a upward move. Isnt that generally the way teams handle these things, you dont block a coach from moving up?

Discflinger 01-27-2022 03:34 PM

If they did no one would want to work for them again.

Oldcolt 01-27-2022 07:11 PM

It is a sign of what other professionals in the NFL think of Reich. Great young coaches will want to work for him because it provides an opportunity for advancement. This is nothing but good for the Colts, one of the few things going right for us at the moment.

Hoopsdoc 01-27-2022 08:30 PM

Holder and Keefer on their latest podcast still think it’s more likely than not that Wentz returns next year. But I get the feeling they think that only because there’s really nothing else out there.

I don’t know if I can stand another year of knucklehead Wentz. That guy is the most maddening player I’ve ever watched.

Discflinger 01-28-2022 03:08 AM

Get used to it. Yeah I hated seeing him just throwing off foot backsliding in practice instead of setting and digging in. It’s his style and it obviously doesn’t work.

Odds are that's correct. There's a bunch of guys that aren't an (obvious) upgrade over Wentz. Why bother? Take a chance on a full off-season making some improvement.

And the worthwhile guys are going to require some serious moves. SEA wanted three 1st rounders for Wilson last year.
