Thx. That big bastard changed its course. We’ve got evacuees flooding into town and people acting like it’s the apocalypse. People get a bit melodramatic here when there is a forecast for an inch of snow let alone a big storm. My biggest concern is I’ve got a 100+ yr old post oak looming over my house. Too much rain or wind and I could have a dangerous situation.

6-12” rain, possible landslides and tornadoes. The forecast continues to worsen.

There are some people, weather people, that seem to really want it to be bad. Breathless talk of how many hours the hurricane will hover, the size of the storm surge, etc etc. Kinda messed up.

Those are probably the same dumb asses who go to the hurricane and then feel the need to broadcast "live" in the storm. I don't need to see an idiot outside to know it's raining. Those morons put first responders at risk when they get in trouble and need rescueing

NC told people in certain areas that if they stay there won't be any attempt to rescue them. probably bullshit but i like the message

that is roughly the same they say for here. without landslides obviously. i am glad i don't have trees around my house to worry about like you do. well in this instance anyway. i plan on planting some.

You may end up with some trees in your yard but I doubt you'll want them.

The higher ridges approaching NC are prone to instability when saturated. Once you get past the foothills it’s no longer an issue.
