I was/am an AR fan. But. He's lost all trust from this FO IMO

So maybe they trade him for a player, a 4th rounder or whatever. Hell they may even release him

So Puck, if you were the GM of say the Saints, you'd give the Colts a 4th rounder for AR?

Probably not. There will be a team that needs someone if their QB gets hurt. I know that's where we are right now. But I just think the FO is ready to move on. But ya never know. Maybe he gets his head in the game and learns something from Rivers and Jones.

Of course you wouldn't. It's one thing to need a QB, it's quite another to trade for a flop. Especially a fragile flop.

Word is that McVay is interested and they will most likely be drafting a QB this yr. Also Minnesota also showed interest. Hell Miami might be looking for a replacement for Tua.

Those are the 3 I can think of.

Trade bait? Be honest, if you were the GM of any other NFL team, what would you offer the Colts for AR? I think they keep him for the last year of his deal, if DJ isn't ready for the beginning of the season, you can start AR. If he does well, great. If he sucks again, you dump him.

There is always a GM/HC that thinks they can save a player, especially a QB.

That's true, signing a free agent flop is one thing, trading a 4th rounder for him is quite another.

From what I understand it’s cleared to workout basically, not cleared for football activities

that's the issue I have. was that question asked? I have no idea what the timeframe would be to be able to take NFL hits after an orbital fracture and surgery.

like sure, maybe it is healed up enough he can run around and lift weights but still a month out before he would be able to take hits.

or maybe, more likely, the colts don't want to ever see him put on a uniform again. we could speculate all day about why that is.

do they plan to trade him in the offseason and don't want him getting hurt again? was he not working hard in the meeting rooms while he has been out and they are just tired of it?

no idea but it seems to me they are done.

So with the 21 day window open, and him now back at practice as of today, is he the backup Monday night or is that Leonard?
