I wouldn't, but his in game management leaves a ton to be desired, and I'm not sure he can be a successful football coach without better adjustments.

His system is great though, especially when he has the right personnel.

It’s far more likely the next guy is Jim Caldwell instead of the second coming of Tony Dungy.

We know Steichen can win with competent quarterback play. It’s just a matter of finding that quarterback.

Chicken and Egg...was it BB or Brady?

It was a combination of the two but mostly Brady.

No, but get an OC who calls the play.

That's what he is actually quite good at. He is innovative, but his in game clock management and general awareness on the defensive side of the ball along with his interviews in my opinion leave a lot to be desired. In his interviews, it feels as if he is scared to say the wrong thing and upset Ballard. The updates on Richardson, 'he is progressing', he should be 100% on top of this and know everything there is about his rehab prior to the first interview, the day after Jones' injury (maybe he is), and then be able to give a proper update to the media about his progress. He ought to be able to give some sort of a timeline, as in is he likely available in a week, or maybe if we made the playoffs or not at all and it is season ending. Don't understand how that should be so hard to let others know or why it would need to be kept a secret.

What the team does with Jones will tell us everything about what they think of Steichen.

Personally, I don’t think he’s in any danger regardless of what happens the rest of this season.

If the team signs Jones to a long term deal, that would most likely mean Steichen, and by extension Ballard, are gonna be around for a while. Because otherwise they wouldn’t make the commitment.

They’d let the new coach/GM make that call.

In my rat's ass of an opinion, it was mostly great teams, some Bill Belichick, and some Tom Brady.

When Tom Brady missed the entire 2008 season, the Patriots went 11-5 with Matt Cassel at quarterback ...... the very next year in 2009, the Patriots went 10-6 with Brady back at quarterback, and they were blown out by the Ravens in the Wildcard round of the playoffs on their homefield in Foxborough.

The Matt Cassel 2008 Patriots team didn't make the playoffs with a record of 11-5, only one of 2 teams ever not to make the playoffs with an 11-5 record. The other team to go 11-5 and not qualify for the post-season was the 1985 Denver Broncos.

Bill Belichick led the Patriots to 9 Super Bowls in his tenure as coach ...... but I would argue that his best year as a head coach was when he led the Patriots to an 11-5 record with Matt Cassel at quarterback.

The 2008 Patriots Will Forever Be Bill Belichick’s True Masterpiece

Yes, generally speaking, I do align with firing, and without a long leash. However, SS has proven he can coach at a level that it creates a good team. More importantly to me however, is the fact that he does not seem to suffer fools. If you do stupid shit, or if you don't perform, you get sent, and I am all for that approach! Frank would let you shoot his dog in front of him then throw 8 picks in 7 possessions, and still have you starting- fuck that! So at least dudes know under SS they must perform.

I have admittedly lowered my bar on SS over the last several games where he has just completely thrown in the towel in the run game, so that pisses me off. He also needs to be a MUCH better clock / situational football coach.

Someone asked the same question about Ballard.... yeah you already know for sure on that one...
