This is a disaster. In recent years, the Colts have always seemed rational, professional and measured in their organizational decisions and personnel changes (whether you agreed with those changes or not). Now it seems they're in full panic mode. If this is Irsay's doing, I think we are in for a long dark period. Whether you defend Ballard or not, I don't think he'll stick around if his authority is being undermined. Maybe Irsay will bring in Antoine Bethea as GM?

My hope is that Saturday is just a placeholder until the offseason, when there might be a better selection of candidates to replace Reich. Maybe he can provide an outsider's perspective on the team until then? I don't know, even then, it doesn't sound like a great plan to me. The better angle would be to appoint one of your current guys as the interim coach. Why not reward Bradley, whose squad has played fairly well?

Because Bradley was a disaster as an HC.

Saturday is a leader and a winner. He will get a good OC to call plays, and do the job of leading the team. I am excited to see how the team responds to this move.

Won’t Irsay still have to conduct interviews after the season because of the Rooney Rule?

I will say this. I'll bet that Saturday told Irsay, that he can see what is wrong with this OL and promised him that he can fix it.

I dont believe that it applies, if they keep Saturday.

They are in panic mode. They’ve been in a 6 year rebuild that has went no where. What do you sell the fan base? We are just a QB and LT away from the promised dynasty? I’ve had a hard time giving away my tickets this year. This is without a doubt the continuation of the clown show, but desperation breeds stupid moves.

Then make him the fucking OL coach.

Wow, this is a sign that Irsay is getting more involved in the Front Office. The owner becoming more involved in the Front Office is almost always bad news.

I love it

He's literally only coached high school and his record is 20-16...as a high school head coach. C'mon. Smh
