I know that AR wasn't sacked, but he wasn't protected well either.
He missed a couple of throws and there were a couple of drops. |
AR played well against the Lions in my opinion. Around 7 passes were either dropped or taken away by the fucking refs. A few other passes were thrown away to avoid sacks. The oline was a joke, and we had no running game outside of AR. First time I felt this sorry for a QB in a long time. AR gave his all, and those fucking lineman who were criticizing him earlier need to STFU and do their fucking job!

The fact that Richardson was not sacked with the offensive line playing as badly as they today did tells you a lot about Richardson ...... the guy is a fighter, in every sense of the word. Also, he had 0 INT's today, in addition to those 0 sacks ...... I'll take a QB that goes 11-for-28 if he has 0 sacks, 0 INT's, several crucial drops, and numerous bad calls by the referees while taking snaps behind a very bad offensive line every day of the week, and twice on Sundays. o |
AR did not have a good day, however, he was the only offensive player to show up for this game.

(1 WEEK LATER) ) [vs. PATRIOTS, 12/01] Once again, Richardson's 12-for-24 belie how good his overall play was ....... he had numerous drops by his receivers, and he also avoided being sacked for the 2nd consecutive game. He did have 2 INT's, but I think that an apt description of his overall play would be nothing short of ultimate leadership with clutch plays at crucial times. o |

Why is this article in the Anthony Richardson thread ??? As is the case in baseball where you can never have too much pitching, you can't presume that a position is necessarily fine if a substitute has a good game. I'm glad that Pinter played well against the Patriots, but I would much rather have (and take my chances) with a healthy, 4-time Pro Bowler like Ryan Kelly for the long haul. o |

Maybe. But I'd still rather have a solid, proven, All-Pro like Kelly healthy in a sport in which 2 players can get knocked out of a game in the span of 3 or 4 plays ...... if Bortolini is (at most) minimally better than Kelly, than having Kelly healthy and playing is better in the long run than having Bortolini playing and keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't get injured. o |

DNVR sportswriter l Zac Stevens l compared, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 draft, Richardson, to Tim Tebow, saying if he has a good day against the Broncos, it could be a problem. “Anthony Richardson is a guy that is still very much developing here,” Stevens said on the “DNVR Broncos Podcast” on December 11. “He’s got the size, the arm, he can run. … But this is a guy that, if he shreds this Broncos’ defense this week, then we’ve got a problem." “I’m saying all this because he’s not going to ...... he is not going to shred this Broncos, defense. This is a guy that turns the ball over more than he scores. This is a guy that was benched for Joe Flacco. And then, Joe Flacco was so bad that they went back to Anthony Richardson and like I said, he doesn’t complete 50% of his passes. This year, he’s at 47.4% completion. The Broncos are going to lock Anthony Richardson down through the air." https://heavy.com/sports/nfl/denver-...onitto-cooper- o |

Even Anthony Richardson skeptics would not compare him to a slow, lumbering, below-average passer like Tim Tebow. The writer is ignoring the fact that Richardson has not only had many passes dropped by his receivers, but also the fact that he has improved significantly since being benched back in early November. When Tebow played for the Broncos, his team was 8-5 heading into the final 3 weeks of the 2011 season. They only needed 1 win to secure a playoff berth ...... not only did they lose all 3 games to finish the season at 8-8, but Tebow's offense put up a grand total of 3 points in the season finale against a below-average Kansas City Chiefs team. Fortunately for Tebow and the Broncos, they wound up backing into the playoffs anyway with an 8-8 record because their division was so mediocre. 2 years later in 2013, Tebow couldn't even cut it as Tom Brady's back-up for the Patriots, and they released him before the start of the season. Will Richardson wind up having a disappointing career when all is said and done ??? That's possible, because it is still too early to tell how things will pan out for him in the long run ...... but comparing him to Tebow and acting as though he is as inept and talent-lacking as he was is rather absurd. This sportswriter sounds like an amateurish hack, at best. o |
Stop throwing to blocking TE's!!!

Meanwhile, Will Levis has thrown 3 picks and lost a fumble.
He got benched for Mason Rudolph. Regardless of how AR turns out, we dodged a bullet not drafting that turd. |

I’m not giving up on AR yet. I think he can still be something special.
But he needs to put in the work. The whispers about the reason he was benched are very concerning. He’s got to work on his game EVERY SINGLE DAY. I will say, if Steichen and/or Ballard are fired after the season, all bets are off. It will depend entirely on who they hire at that point. |

All the apologist can hope all ya want. I will be realistic and comment on what I see with my own eyes. Giving him another year just assures us we have a shot of Arch Manning. So I guess there is a silver lining in the disaster that awaits us. |

Richardson may not evolve into a top-10 NFL quarterback as we are hoping that he will, but his entire career to-date has consisted of 20 college football games and 12 complete NFL football games. o |

everyone also knew most colts fans would give him about 6 games before they start calling him a bust. and injuries are unacceptable to dumb colts fans. while they sit on their asses every week or sell their tickets to opposing fans. AR needs time. will it work? who knows. probably not. but we have to give him time to find out |
