There are 2 ways to get better as a team:

1. Bring sub-standard position groups up to at least NFL average.

2. Strengthen already strong groups in order to make them outstanding and give you an out weighted advantage.

Adding Poe to what should be an already strong DT rotation would follow the second rule rather than the first rule which would be a fine way to help strengthen the defense....as long as it does not come at the sacrifice of signing Linebackers, O-Linemen and DEs which are at a much higher ranking of need (see way #1 above).

And, like many have said, other than Norwell, Nate Solder and perhaps Navarro Bowman and Malcolm Butler, whom else do you think will be available in free agency that would make a bigger impact on the Colts roster than Poe that we will spend money on? (RB Bell from PIT would be one but I cannot see Ballard throwing that kind of money at him)

Walk Worthy,

I saw last night that Pitt has tagged Bell, so he's off the table.

True, but we can also move cap money forward. I think there is a good chance to compete in the division, but at least another year away from being a legit SB contender.

To win this division gonna have to stop the run and contain the QB from running. The teams in our division run the ball and 2 have QBs that can get outside the pocket and take off

That makes getting one of the rangy, athletic LBs that can cover ground quickly very important. I like Vander Esch, but he may not be there at 36.

You think Poe will help with that? We already have pieces that help with running inside, it is the rest that is a huge ?.

Absolutely it would be better.... maybe as good as there is in the league. I'm considering Sherck's #2 comment above

I think Bell is fantastic, and the Steelers are fucking him over.

He has a 1200 yard rushing season and he's their 3rd best WR. Almost 2000 yards on the season.

I would rather the money be spent on OL and linebackers rather than another DL.

He is going to be wanting a huge contract. The DL was pretty good last year already.

If the OL or LBers were even average or close to it and you want Poe to upgrade the DL, sure, but those units are at the bottom of the league. You don't have the luxury of big money at a position of relative strength in this situation
