This is year 9 for Chris Ballard and that is an average NFL roster at best. Barring a division win and playoff run, I won't mind seeing the end of him and Shane both. I'd feel sorry for Buckner and Nelson if they weren't already multimillionaires.

And, no, Archie Manning will never be a Colt. Stop with that nonsense already. Beyond sick of all things "Arch".

Lot's of talk on JMV tonight to just isolate the 2023 draft and consider if Chris Ballard should still be a GM. The resounding answer just using that draft class, is a fucking hellaciously loud NO. This dude is just bad at his job, period. Drafts guys that can't play, or are constantly hurt, and in a lot of cases BOTH!

Fair point but I still like our "Mr. Bean" who showed some sparks from what I could see in the Bungles game.

Does anyone think we need to improve the Linebacker position on the waiver wire?

The 2023 draft wasn’t very good for a lot of teams. It was likely due to the COVID rules. The drafts the past few years have been like that, where you don’t really know how a player will be in the NFL, due to age and experience. I think it starts to normalize with the next draft, as most of the COVID rules will be over.

Yes, I’ve been saying this for a while. They must really like McGrone because he’s basically all they’ve got beyond Zaire.

I did hear that Anarumo wants to play primarily dime defenses so that helps explain it, along with all the corners they’re collecting.

Still, that’s a bare cupboard at linebacker.

Nothing on offense really seems surprising. Woods just Parris Campbell'd himself off the team. Understandable.

Anarumo clearly has a lesser emphasis on LB than DB. I lean toward thinking they'll stay at 4 even when Carlies returns and release someone (probably Olubi). Could definitely pick up a casualty from another team here.

Anarumo also clearly has a type for CB's and it's not the same as Eberflus'/Bradley's. Jones is good, but all indications are that he was going to lose out to Walley outside. He'll still contribute in this scheme as heavy DB as it is. Brents is also good, but like Woods, he Parris Campbell'd himself off the team.

If Hilton signs, I'm guessing Eric Johnson/Tim Smith will give up a spot.

Florio is reporting Anthony Walker will work out for the Colts tomorrow.

Colts pick up another LB through waivers.

And Brents, Womack and Woods get claimed by other teams.

I haven't listened to any of the radio guys this week. I might listen to the podcasts tonight just to hear the reaction to the Ballard press conference. I haven't seen that yet either, but I've heard it's a doozy. I'm hoping for the best, but this season might be shaping up to be a mess.
