Who says he isnt playing LT. The Colts needed a replacement, some who has played LT. Ok, they got someone. Does that mean they are starting?

As I said on the other thread, two of Nelsons incredible abilities would be of much less use at tackle. His instincts and ability to help out others on the line (his pickups on pass protection are amazing) and his pulling ability would be of much less use at tackle. I think the offense would really miss that.

Agree. Not having a LT, who can hold off the RDE, or hold the corner, make having a good LG, irrelevant. Colts won a SB with Jake Scott. Its easier to find a jake scott, than an anthony Castonzo

They started Green(I think) at tackle last week and they still show him as primary backup on the depth chart.

He isn't as good at LT as he is at LG. He still performed adequately, but I thought he wasn't quite as agile as you'd like your LT to be. He seemed to have some trouble kick sliding on the outside.

Unfortunately this moron is right

Would any one here be shocked if Nelson winds up at LT before the end of tomorrows game. Since the Colts go through them like gatoraid, they may have Leonard on the line before the 4th quarter

I always liked Veldheer.

He came out of very, very small Hillsdale College (1,200 enrollment), was drafted in the 3rd by the Raiders and grabbed their starting LT spot as a rookie after having become their top backup in training camp.

Started 11 of 16 games as a rookie in 2010 and then started the next 37 games until injury cut short his 2013 campaign after only 5 games.

He signed a veteran free agent contract with Arizona in 2014 and started 40 games for them at LT until injury cut short his 2016 season after 8 games.

After that, he never played more than 13 games a season (13 in 2017, 12 in 2018, 2 in 2019) and zero in 2020 so far.

While not a high end starter anymore, assuming he is in shape, he will be better than anyone else we could run out there not named Castonzo.

I felt old when I thought "he was a 3rd round pick fairly recently" then read he was the 69th pick in the 2010 NFL draft.

It's relative ...... if you're a 17 year-old Colts fan who is a senior in high school, then 2010 is not fairly recently. If you're a 55 year-old Colts fan who started rooting for the team when Earl Morrall and Johnny Unitas were taking turns at QB based on which one was less injured than the other, then 2010 is fairly recently.
