4th and 4 is considerably different than 4 and 1 and-a-half.

Vinatieri has been erratic this season, but he has actually looked better at very long field goal attempts than he has at shorter field goals and extra points ........ even the 57-yarder that he missed against the Raiders had plenty of distance, but was just off to the left.
